ANJA SALONEN for END OVERDOSE
We are pleased to announce ANJA SALONEN'S limited edition release in support of END OVERDOSE
_________________________________________
Anja Salonen is a visual artist based in Los Angeles who employs traditional oil painting techniques like glazing alongside airbrushed acrylic and fabric dye, to build up many-layered images, often mirrored in the pictorial interweaving of multiple subjects. Interests in formal rendering and color theory merge with digital aesthetics and esoteric imaginaries, creating visions of clashing perspectives where unseen connections are realized and uncanny realms are rendered material. Complex scenes of eco-horror and sensual ecstasy emerge through a world-building process resembling collage, merging art historical references with open source computer generated and photographic images, often referencing the visual language of surveillance and biotechnology. The paintings are scorched with the acidic colors of chemical contamination, paradoxical spatial relationships and porous representations of the figure, with subjects transparent to their environments.

The drug overdose epidemic has become a national crisis, with over a million Americans dying from overdoses since 1999, and opioids contributing to over 70% of these deaths. Current harm reduction strategies face challenges such as lack of funding, fragmentation, cultural dissonance, underutilization of technology, and lack of inclusivity.
End Overdose see's a future where every individual impacted by drug use finds support, resources, and a pathway to recovery. Our vision encompasses a society that prioritizes health, compassion, and evidence-based solutions to address the drug overdose epidemic.
Reduced Overdoses and Deaths, Empowered Communities, Shifted Public Perception, Grassroots-Informed Policies, Inclusive and Collaborative Approach, Accessible Resources and Support, Data-Driven Solutions, Long-Term Impact.
End Overdose is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in California with a national reach working to end drug-related overdose deaths through education, medical intervention, and public awareness.
