What is Screen Printing?
Screen printing is a handmade medium in which the color is applied layer by layer by hand through a prepared screen. Each screen is a meticulously calculated layer of the finished image and is exposed like a photograph. Each layer consists of a single color, which is pressed through the screen in the exposed areas, and therefore, it must be precisely coordinated in advance how the colors will be combined in the final print.
The colors are masterfully mixed, and the light and texture effects must also be anticipated and planned.
The creation of a screen print is more than just a reproduction. It is an independent artistic process and the result is a small unique piece with its own character.
